I started film thinking I wanted to be a writer…

So I wrote some short screenplays:
Rudy: firefighting slug fights his small size to follow in his father’s legacy.
Recycle This: vigilante recycler crashes frat parties to pay for college.
The Zoo: writing intern gets hunted by indomitable magazine publisher.

But to bring the words to life, I needed a Camera…

I learned the magic of some “F” words:
Framerate
Film stock
F-stops
Focal length
Foot candles
Focal depth

Then my actors needed guidance; I became a Director…

I learned some things the hard way:
When auditioning, don’t look for performance: judge range, directability, and presence
Never give results-oriented direction
Avoid emotional maps, but help actors identify emotional turns
The directors job is to put the subtext of the script on the screen

But in order to finish the puzzle, I became an Editor…

Now I had all the tools to:
Be the master of my own destiny
Tell my stories to the world in a captivating way
Change my life forever
